Meredith Wolting: Artist & Designer
|
Embracing the fairy-tale influences from her childhood, Meredith's artistic style today ripples with notes of magic and bold colours. She discovered an interest in set design through combining her passion for performing on stage with her creativity on canvas, and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from York University after studying Devised Theatre and Set & Costume Design with a focus in ensemble theatre. Meredith has extensive experience working with children in the arts, working with both Bravo Academy and the Canadian Opera Company as a teaching artist in set design.
Meredith performs, paints, and teaches throughout Toronto, designing sets, props, and costumes for theatre and film. She loves bringing stories to life through illustrating children's books, and is the illustrator of The A-G Piano Book Series as well as Opera Atelier's student resource comic books each season. Meredith works freelance as a graphic designer and by commission for paintings, logos, and posters. In all of her work, Meredith strives to empower the next generation of artists and hopes to ignite a spark of creative possibility in everyone she meets. |
